to the Walk:
Thank you for
organizing the peace walk. It was the opportunity I was looking for to
DO SOMETHING and take action but create a feeling of peacefulness for myself
at the sametime. I like the concept alot of creating what it is that you
want instead of putting your energy into opposing something that you don't
want.
Thank you,
Peace, T
I thoroughly enjoyed
the last Peace Walk and hope to do it next month with my husband.
Please add two names to your list. They requested this themselves after hearing
about it.
Thank you,
M.
Thank you for
creating this great experience to come together to exemplify and spread
PEACE. It was a
powerful experience to be a moving-women-river of PEACE. It was fulfilling
to be proactive- doing
something to cultivate a more life-enhancing way of living and being together.
It's a powerful statement
nationally and right here at home. For me it addresses not just the global/national
situation but the state I hope our culture strongly cultivates amongst women
friends...I have witnessed and expereinced non-peace showing up in fear based
behaviors of being negative, exclusively competitive("I win-you lose"),
ill-wishing, and non-supportive. So thank you for your efforts, your vision...perhaps
more tendrils of opportunites in different venues will grow out of this locally
and nationally, and I look forward to next month!
With sincerity and gratitude,
J.
Congratulations on a job very well done. I'm so glad that you had the kind
of response that you did; it was impressive. The flags were beautiful
and carrying the white ribbons and roses added to the aesthetics of the
white wardrobe. I especially liked the fact that it was silent. There
was power and beauty in that as well. And, the song that simply asked
to give peace a chance fit well with that quiet ambience and understatement
that the group spontaneously created. I thought the overall impact was
significant in that it demonstrated a feminine point of view on so many
levels. ( I believe that women are traditionally peaceful for they are
the ones left to suffer the consequences of war). With artistic flair,
you pulled it all off and I feel proud to have been a part of it. Many
thanks, Betty, for doing something important.

Congratulations
on the great walk today! The surprising
thing was at the end of the march I felt very peaceful.

Thank you for
the photos. Thank you, even more, for creating an experience for
the participants and a statement to the world that is so true to the real
meaning of peace.

It was a real
joy to participate in the peace walk. Brava to you and your many helpers
for creating more beauty for a troubled world, and giving women a chance
to show their strength and compassion. See you Feb. 2.

Thanks so much
for the pictures of a truly memorable afternoon. I will send the
pictures to family and friends around the world.
I will treasure my "Peace Mayor" badge.

I truly enjoyed
the walk and all the beautiful women in solidarity. I had never participated
in such an event before and will not hesitate to do so again. Is this happening
in other cities - with women in white walking silently? I can see this
becoming a national event.

Dear March Organizers:
Thank you for creating a Peace March which I can participate in with joy. I
loved the silence, and I saw how the silence and dignity, without malice,
influenced people as we passed by. There was respect and connectedness
there in the Park and at the restaurants that we passed. The silence
was so important.
On the return march there were people who did not understand how important
the silence was, and began to chat. Next time, if people understand what the
silence means (a little education is in order) there can be as much power as
there was at the beginning of our march up to the park, when silence was kept.
I haven't wanted to participate in a Peace March because I don't relate to
shouting slogans at passers-by. How much more powerful it is to walk in silence
and actually feel that the people are drawn in to our peace with willingness
rather than with verbal demands. If your future marches are as beautifully
executed as yesterday's was, I will joyfully participate. As it was, I felt
an amazing settledness and quiet joy afterwards, which lasted all evening.
